There are several traffic laws which are commonly broken by motorists in the UK and one of them is parking near a junction - a rule which most drivers don't know
A quick drive around your local area would likely reveal a common violation of the Highway Code. If you were to ask the average driver how close they can park to a junction, chances are they wouldn't know.
Parking rules can often be perplexing, with many drivers uncertain about what is and isn't permitted in various situations. Most of us probably don't think twice about parking near a junction, especially if it's crowded, there's a shortage of spaces, and no signs indicating that parking is not allowed, such as double yellow lines.
According to analysis, parking is the aspect of driving that causes the most confusion. Rule 243 of the Highway Code, which outlines where drivers should not stop or park, is the most searched for by unsure motorists on Google.
