A study has revealed that the idyllic setting of the Peak District has been named the most popular staycation spot for a UK Christmas getaway. Holiday Cottages has curated a list of the best UK destinations for a staycation over the festive season.
The holiday experts recommended the historic market town of Bakewell as a top destination due to the various events and festivities held there throughout December. Bakewell has several events to help visitors get into the Christmas spirit, such as its Christmas Tree Festival, hosted by All Saints Church throughout December. The festival displays an array of trees lovingly donated by the local community every year.
The holiday-letting experts explained that the Peak District has become so popular due to the selection of scenic villages, fabulous walks with stunning vistas, and a fantastic range of pubs.
