A beautiful town that’s one of the most photographed spots in the Lake District has been named among the best places to visit in the UK in 48 hours.
The UK is brimming with beautiful landscapes, chocolate-box villages, breathtaking coastlines and rolling hills just waiting to be explored on a weekend break.
It comes as new data reveals a growing trend among British holidaymakers, with 22% now opting for shorter, more frequent breaks. It’s no surprise the Lake District town made the list, the beautiful town is known as "the true Lake District", perfectly located in the heart of the national park and surrounded by countryside.
For a more laid-back afternoon, wander through Ambleside’s quaint streets, filled with independent shops and cosy cafes. Simbarashe Shamu, behaviour specialist and practising registrant of the UK Society of Behaviour Analysis, said people opt shorter breaks are often better for wellbeing compared to longer holidays.
