'This is our way of doing something positive in his memory'
The Smiths star Mike Joyce’s two children will be running the Manchester Half Marathon this weekend in memory of his former bandmate.
READ MORE: Manchester Half Marathon 2024 route, road closures, start times and everything else you need to know To add to the fundraising efforts, Mike’s children Livvy, 31 and Frankie, 26, have decided to take part in this year’s Manchester Half Marathon in memory of Andy and to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer Action.
“Then I heard Frankie was entering the Half Marathon and while I am not a long-distance runner by a long shot, I decided I would join him and we’d do it together for Andy. “Early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer can be a game-changer and we really want to drive home the message to watch out for early signs of any problems.”
