'Us' marks their first major onscreen role since the TV series
Jordan Peele was clearly influenced by the scissor scene in Dead Again. The 1991 movie was directed by Kenneth Branagh and starred his then-wife Emma Thompson, as the murder victim whose husband is found guilty of the crime and condemned to death. The film then jumps from 1949 to 40 years later, with private detective Mike Church begins to investigate the identity of a woman who appeared at the orphanage where he grew up.
