The Australian’s Chris Merritt says the government is not “willing to listen to clear stakeholders” with an interest in the issues occurring in Alice Springs and questions if this will change once a Voice to Parliament is implemented.

Mr Merritt’s remarks come after the handing down of a report into alcohol restrictions, which the NT Police Association claims it was not consulted on.

“What is going to happen after this new institution is created? Are they going to listen to it?” he told Sky News host James Morrow.
