Food festivals, family celebrations and Pride events will be taking place all across Greater Manchester this Bank Holiday weekend

The summer holidays are set to conclude in spectacular fashion as always with the late August bank holiday weekend featuring a load of festivities, events and family-friendly activities.

Of course, it’s always worth checking with organisers before heading out just in case things sell out or if details change. The event is free to attend, with tickets required for some of the demonstrations, talks and shows. The main hub of activity, including the food stalls, and festival stage, will take place around the Town Hall. All the details on this year's event can be found here.

Running until August 25, the exhibition features props, costumes, vehicles and other surprises featured within the vast Batman movie archive through a series of themed rooms and interactive elements. Tickets, from £12, can be bought here. Festa Italiana, hosted by family-run restaurant group Salvi’s, will take place at Cathedral Gardens throughout the weekend. Alongside appearances from chefs including Saturday Kitchen star Gennaro Contaldo and Great British Bake Off winner Giuseppe Dell’Anno, there will be traders including Conni’s Focacceria, The Pista Bar, Grandpa Greenes, Il Forno and Proove Pizza all in attendance.

New Order and Blossoms gigs at Wythenshawe Park - August 24 and 25 Wythenshawe Park will host two big gigs this weekend - legendary local band New Order will play their first headline performance in the city in three years on Saturday , whilst Stockport band Blossoms will play the biggest headline show of their career on . Blossoms have also partnered up with the Bee Network for their very own bus system taking people to and from the park via Stockport.

Makers Market, MediaCity - August 24 to 26 A popular monthly addition to MediaCity, the Makers Market will return for three days this weekend featuring a range of stalls from local artisans, traders and businesses. Taking place outside Quayside, there will be plenty to see, purchase, and eat.
