Bringing the Chapter 1 map turned out to be the right move for Epic Games, who’s had a lot of success over the past few days. The battle royale game keeps breaking big records and getting millions of concurrent players, which is very impressive. On Saturday, Fortnite had its best day ever. Around 44.7 million players logged into the game on this day, which is an all-time record for a daily number of players.
However, it’s dominated the console market and has been the most downloaded free PlayStation game for a long time. According to Circana’s Player Engagement Tracker, the launch day of the new season was especially dominant. The tracker shows that 38% of all active Xbox players played Fortnite on the launch day. On PlayStation, the engagement rate was 33%, meaning that one-third of all active players on Friday played the battle royale game.
