Gatwick Airport continues to see queues as global IT outage continues to cause disruption

THOUSANDS of Brits have been stranded abroad after MORE flights were cancelled as Microsoft revealed 8.5 million computers were hit.In a statement, CrowdStrike said it had found the glitch in a "single content update" for Windows - adding it was not a cyberattack.FLASH POINTLondon Gatwick, Heathrow Airport, Manchester Airport and Belfast International Airport have all said they could be affected.

Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This was not a cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed. We are working with all impacted customers to ensure that systems are back up and they can deliver the services their customers are counting on. A third of deliveries to pharmacies across England were hit on Friday after a major wholesaler declared it had been affected by the issues.

Many were flooded with calls from patients who were unable to contact other NHS providers because of the IT issues.Experts have warned that yesterday’s disaster highlights how reliant modern society is on technology and how vulnerable it is to glitches.
