Housing campaigners have said that data shows a quadrupling of families with kids housed in “hellhole hotels” and B&Bs in the last year - rising to a shocking 97 families.
Devastating figures have revealed that over 3000 homeless kids are stuck in “squalid” temporary accommodation in Glasgow .

It’s also a ten per cent rise since June when 2909 kids were temporarily housed.
“That is going to detrimentally affect their physical and mental health and wellbeing going forward. We’re in effect betraying a whole generation of children to mental and physical ill health.” Alison Watson, director of Shelter Scotland, said: “It’s been nine months since Glasgow declared a housing emergency, yet the situation is clearly getting worse. That more than 3200 children in Scotland’s largest city are homeless should be a source of deep national shame.
In addition, some 314 homeless women were living in hotels or B&Bs where men are also residing amid safety concerns. And in the first seven months of the year, there was a record-breaking 3018 legal breaches of the Unsuitable Accommodation Order in Glasgow - meaning occasions where homeless people were placed in unfit housing.
"We have no council housing in Glasgow. We rely on Registered Social Landlords who have high demands themselves in terms of housing need to meet, as well as in relation to homelessness.
