A door has been smashed and thousands of tradies have abandoned their tools to march through cities across Australia in protest of wage theft and higher salaries.

The CFMEU coordinated workers in fluro yellow and orange to march the streets of Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, mere days after builder Porter Davis shockingly entered liquidation.

“Today we march for fairness and justice and for the Labor government to live up to their election promises,” said one protester. The Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide protests were reportedly quite peaceful amid a heavy police presence. The nationwide action is understood to have been organised before builder Porter Davis shockingly entered voluntary administration last Friday, halting the construction of 1,700 homes.
