Households in need of support can apply for a financial award of £110 per household, with the opportunity to apply twice for support between 1 April and September 30 this year

Thousands are now eligible for a free £220 Cost of Living 'cash grant', which can be used towards supermarket shopping, energy bills and additional costs. The government, extending the Household Support Fund, has made this sum accessible to struggling households.

The local authority declared: "Households are eligible to access Household Support Fund financial support, if all of the following apply currently live in Cambridgeshire, have £16,000 or less in money, savings, and investments and have income levels less than identified." They emphasise that while the fund is open to everyone, they actively urge specific groups to apply. These groups include but aren't limited to, disabled individuals with heightened utility bills due to equipment or transport costs, those receipting housing benefit only, such as those living in shared accommodation and paying for fuel through meters, as well as individuals eligible for certain unclaimed benefits, reports Birmingham Live.
