Wisteria The rampant growth and size of wisteria mean it requires regular cuts, not just for management but also to enhance its blooming prowess. The Royal Horticultural Society suggests a biannual pruning regimen for these climbers, once in August and again in January.
Rambling roses Much like wisteria, rambling roses can become a tangled mess of branches with few flowers if left unattended. The RHS advises: "When supports have been covered, thin and shorten excessive growth by removing one in three of the oldest stems entirely.
