Man United have had to contend with far too many injuries since the start of last season - and a lot of them have been of a similar nature.
Following his big-money arrival from Chelsea in July 2023, the midfielder's debut season at the club was plagued by injury issues. In a campaign that had a stop-start theme to it, Mount made just 20 appearances.
However, he was forced off at half-time in United's 2-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion just over a week ago. A few days later, Mount posted on social media that he had suffered a muscle injury and that he will be unavailable for a 'few games'. The Reds were without six first-team players for Sunday's visit of Liverpool. Shaw, Mount and Hojlund are arguably the most likely of those who missed out who would have played and possibly started.
Hojlund's absence at the top of end of the pitch has been costly, highlighted by the fact United have missed more big chances than any other team in the Premier League this season. He improved as last season unfolded, scoring a very respectable 16 goals, and the best of him is still to come.
