Three young men from Austin and Garfield Park face a litancy of felony charges in connection with Sunday’s shooting of a 16-year-old boy that left three others wounded, police said.
Three young men face almost two dozen felony charges in connection with the weekend slaying of a 16-year-old boy in the Austin neighborhood that wounded three others, authorities announced Wednesday.
In addition, Allen is accused of one count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon while underage. Lemons is accused of unlawful use of a weapon as a felon and Dixon is accused of possessing a stolen vehicle, police said. Lemons and Dixon were both on parole, according to court records. Lemons was paroled in May 2023 after being sentenced to four years behind bars for 2021 instances of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.
According to a police report, Dixon admitted to driving the stolen vehicle but said he was “just driving” it and “had no idea what was going on.”
