The crash occurred around 2 p.m. Sunday and shut shut down the interstate's southbound lane for several hours.
John Sheltman, 79, and Eileen Beck, 80, both of Selinsgrove, and Lieu Nguyen, 49, of Harrisburg, were pronounced dead at the scene from multiple traumatic injuries, according to the coroner’s office.
The coroner said the tractor trailer was driving in the northbound lane when it crossed the median and struck two vehicles. Sheltman and Beck were driving in a Subaru Outback and Nguyen in a Toyota minivan, according to the report.
