Get ready for a snowy and icy week ahead as three storms are predicted to hit the region through the middle of next week. Expect a mix of snow, sleet, and rain with varying levels of accumulation depending on location.

We are bracing for three storms to sweep through the region through the middle of next week. While there will be periods of respite between these storms, the snowfall in the secluded areas of northern New England will be substantial. The first two storms, both originating on the West Coast, will follow a nearly identical path across New England. This will result in a three-stage precipitation pattern: snow, a mixture of snow and rain, and finally, rain.

Before the transition to mixed precipitation, we could experience two to four inches of snow, with potentially less than two inches on the South Shore. Following the changeover, there is a possibility of some icing in central Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. The speed of this weather system will be a mitigating factor, preventing significant accumulations of frozen precipitation. The storm will arrive by mid-morning and depart by evening.Temperatures will remain semi-chilly into the first part of the weekend as we anticipate a similar weather pattern for Sunday. There is a possibility that the storm on Wednesday could take a slightly more southerly track, leading to increased snowfall overall. We will continue to monitor this development closely.
