The coffee chain now has three sites across the rail network
A brand new coffee shop is opening in a Merseyrail station. Friends Rory McLellan and Craig Reeves used to work in Starbucks and Greggs respectively but a few years ago decided to strike out for themselves. The pair came up with the idea of making hot drinks and delicious food in a horse trailer, and began taking the idea around the country. They then began opening in train stations too, first in Hunts Cross with the Coffee Saddle and then Maghull with the Coffee Carriage.
We didn’t go hell for leather. We went for a soft launch. But the response has been unbelievable. We’re beyond thrilled.” Rory has previously stated he wants Coffee Carriages at all major Merseyrail stops. While he and Craig have their eye on other stations, their focus is on Formby for the moment. Rory said: “We’re focussed on getting this right and supporting our existing stores in Maghull and Hunts Cross. We’ll look to expand later.
