TGL , which stands for Tomorrow’s Golf League, debuted on Tuesday with a tech-infused indoor golf format created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy. The league, a year in the making, took place at the SoFi Center in Florida. The made-for-TV format features matches played over 15 holes across a league season. Woods described the concept as a dream that has come to reality, taking golf to another level.
The inaugural event saw The Bay Golf Club, represented by Shane Lowry, Ludvig Åberg, and Wyndham Clark, face off against New York Golf Club's Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Xander Schauffele. The Bay Golf Club secured a 9-2 victory. Players expressed enthusiasm for the new format, with Lowry comparing the experience to the 2023 Ryder Cup. The course incorporates a large screen for tee shots and a short-game complex with various surfaces, all designed to enhance the atmosphere for spectators
