Tim Allen is set to return as Buzz Lightyear for Toy Story 5 . The 71-year-old actor, who has starred alongside Tom Hanks in the four previous Toy Story films, revealed in an interview with Collider that he recently completed his first five-hour recording session for the character. Allen kept the plot details under wraps but did share that he will be voicing multiple versions of Buzz Lightyear in the new film.\ 'It’s a very, very clever story,' he said of the script.
Allen also mentioned that the story was the driving force behind the decision to make another Toy Story film, stating that while success is important, it wasn't the primary motivator. \ The actor admitted that it took some time to get back into character, but he found his groove after a couple of hours. He estimates that the film is about a year away from release, with the third act already completed
