Former reality star Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie Chrisley are hoping for a pardon from former President Donald Trump. Chrisley's lawyer claims he's been subjected to mistreatment in prison, including the removal of a MAGA sticker from his cell.
Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie Chrisley are seeking a pardon from former President Donald Trump . Chrisley's lawyer, Jay Surgent, revealed this desire during an interview with TMZ, highlighting alleged mistreatment Chrisley has endured in prison. Surgent claims that Chrisley alleges a prison guard removed a MAGA sticker he had placed on a chair in his cell. Chrisley, according to his lawyer, feared further retaliation and remained silent during the incident.
While Surgent asserts that other inmates also display stickers on their chairs, Chrisley was the only one whose sticker was taken down. Chrisley speculates that this action stems from his support for Trump. Surgent further alleges that Chrisley has experienced other forms of alleged mistreatment, including frequent cell searches, his mattress being flipped, books thrown to the floor, and clothes being searched. He even claims that a guard once poured Pepsi on his bed. Chrisley believes this negative attention is a direct consequence of his public criticism of the alleged prison conditions. The Federal Bureau of Prisons declined to comment specifically on Chrisley's claims but stated their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of inmates, employees, and the public. They added that allegations of misconduct are thoroughly investigated, and appropriate actions are taken if proven true, which may include criminal prosecution. The Chrisleys' pardon request comes after their conviction on federal charges of tax evasion and bank fraud in June 2022. They were indicted in August 2019 for allegedly submitting falsified financial documents to secure millions of dollars in loans. The couple was found guilty of defrauding community banks of over $30 million. Julie Chrisley is currently serving a seven-year sentence, and her appeal for a shorter term was denied in September 2024. A federal judge refused to grant a more lenient sentence, stating that it 'will not change' despite the appeal
