An American diplomat has insisted Russia has 'already lost' the Ukraine war, as Washington tries to determine if it can send fighter jets to help the devastated nation in the ongoing conflict.
Vladimir Putin's forces had forcibly taken land belonging to the war-torn nation since the invasion dating back to February 24, 2022, which is more than 500 days ago.
" already taken back about 50 per cent of what was initially seized. These are still relatively early days of the counteroffensive. It is tough." Mr Blinken had also warned in his CNN interview the counteroffensive in Ukraine could continue for"several months". Its President Volodymyr Zelensky had conceded in June its plans were"slower than desired" but stressed it would not be rushed into making drastic moves.
Several nations, including Australia, have been providing military supplies and funding since the start of the war in a bid to end the conflict.
