TOY prices will soar this Christmas, parents are being warned. Barbie dolls are likely to cost an extra £10 while Transformers could jump by as much as 30 per cent. The rises — also hitting My Litt…

Ynon Kriez, boss of Barbie, Hot Wheels and Fisher-Price maker Mattel, warned: “We’ll be looking at increasing prices.”

Rival Hasbro, which makes Transformers, My Little Pony and Nerf, confirmed it was also raising prices. Expert Peter Jenkinson predicts a Barbie Extra will cost £39.99 instead of £29.99 and a Scalextric Batman vs Joker £59.99, up from £49.99.Analyst Frederique Tutt said: “They’ve no choice.”
