Katie Archibald will return to action at the Track Cycling World Championships after recovering from the injury that ruled her out of the Olympics.

Katie Archibald will return to action at this month's Track Cycling World Championships in Denmark after recovering from the freak injury that ruled her out of the Olympics.

Archibald, 30, broke two bones in her leg and tore ligaments off the bone after tripping over a step in her garden in June.They include defending sprint world champion Emma Finucane, Sophie Capewell and Katy Marchant, who teamed up to win aOther Paris medallists named alongside Archibald for the women's endurance events are Neah Evans, who won madison silver, and Josie Knight, Anna Morris and Jess Roberts, who took team pursuit bronze.

Also competing in Ballerup are men's team pursuit silver medallists Dan Bigham, Ethan Hayter, Charlie Tanfield and Ollie Wood. It will mark Bigham's last competition riding for GB before he retires to take up his new role as head of engineering at the Red Bull Bora Hansgrohe pro cycling team. The World Championships, which run from 16 to 20 October, will be broadcast live across BBC TV, Red Button, iPlayer and the BBC Sport website.
