Traffic lights on a busy roundabout on Preston ’s Western Distributor road have been out of action since Thursday 23 January evening following a crash that damaged some of the traffic signals. \The lights are controlled by two signal controllers, but one was damaged during the road traffic collision. This resulted in it being non-operational and half of the traffic light signals not functioning. \To avoid confusion for drivers, the signals on the half that was unaffected were switched off.
Lancashire County Council, which is responsible for the roundabout, is working with its contractor to determine when full signal operation can be restored to the entire junction. They are hopeful this will be later this week.
