Emergency services could be seen at Leyland Railway Station until the early hours of this morning after an incident on Saturday evening. One person reported being stuck on a rail service at Blackrod at 1.30am having departed Manchester at 10pm. Another was delayed until 3am at Chorley.The scenes at platform 14 at Manchester Piccadilly – where services heading north into Lancashire are managed – were highly congested with British Transport Police forced to manage the crowds on and off services.
