The Cliftonhill club fell to a heavy defeat as boss Sandy Clark admits they got what they deserved
Sandy Clark says Saturday’s defeat at home to Tranent is a “rude awakening” for his Albion Rovers side.
After the high of last Monday’s Scottish Cup first round win over league rivals Stirling University, the defeat brought Clark’s men back down to earth and saw them slip to 14th in the table. “But after going ahead, we lost two really bad goals. The first one, we give the ball away in our own half and then we don’t defend a cross and don’t pick up the man, so that’s three errors leading to the first goal.More sports news from across Lanarkshire “They grew in confidence from that and when they scored early in the second half, we just never got back from that at all.“We didn’t deserve anything from the game. Tranent were the better team.
