There is travel chaos on the region's rail network this morning (March 13) with services at multiple Lancashire stations either cancelled or revised. Emergency services were called to deal with an ongoing incident between Blackburn and Rose Grove . National Rail said it was first reported at 6.53am and 'as a result all lines are currently closed'. The disruption is expected to continue until 11am.
National Rail said routes are affected between Blackpool North and Leeds/York, between Preston and Colne and also between Blackburn and Manchester Victoria/Headbolt Lane. Train provider Northern said 'road transport has been provided' to help customers complete their journey. According to the National Rail website, the following routes are affected in both directions: They added: 'Replacement buses have been requested to operate between Blackburn and Todmorden and between Blackburn and Hebden Bridge.
