In a statement, Stewart Maxwell, Pollok manager, said:"Brian was well known throughout the football community. Likeable, kindhearted and loyal, were just a few of the big guy’s traits.
"A devoted family man who will be missed by many. On a personal level, Chris McFadyen and I will feel this loss more than many.People were quick to express their devastation in the comments. One person said:"Such sad news, Brian was a gentleman. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time."
Another added:"Terrible news, knew Brian personally since I was about eight years old. Always had a big daft smile on his face, cracking jokes.A third replied:"Absolutely gutted to wake up to this news this morning, Brain was a top guy, will be a big miss in and around the dressing room too, thoughts are with all his friends and family, rest easy."
