A driver has been left trapped after crashing a truck through a shop in Sydney's south.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Forest Road and Mimosa Street in Bexley on Tuesday about 6.30am to reports of a collision.
New South Wales Police officers found a tipper truck had smashed through a shop, which has been described by some media outlets as a"house". At least three NSW Fire and Rescue crews are at the scene to stabilise the property before they work to free the driver who has been trapped for more than two hours.There are significant traffic delays with the road closed. A NSW Ambulance spokesman confirmed to SkyNews.com.au just after 8.30am that the driver had not been freed and they were being assessed by paramedics. Footage has shown the the tin roof of the building, piles of bricks and other debris sitting on top of the damaged tipper that mounted the sidewalk."The driver remains lucid but is trapped by compression. What our operators are doing is basically building structures to support underneath the loose and heavy materials. Once that's been completed, they will be able to remove the patient," he said.
