The Pacific Motorway was closed northbound at Warnervale on the Central Coast for much of Monday night after a truck caught fire about 8pm.

As of 7am AEST, two of three northbound lanes were opened but motorists were warned of extensive delays.The M1 Pacific Motorway was closed northbound at Warnervale on the Central Coast for much of Monday night, August 7, 2023, after a truck caught fire about 8pm. Footage from passersby shows flames towering high above the B-double as firefighters battle to bring them under control on the M1.The road was closed northbound for much of the night and two lanes were still closed at 1am as crews worked to clean up the area.

The Transport Management Centre warned motorists to avoid the area or at least allow plenty of extra time to travel. Traffic was being diverted off the highway at Wyong and rejoining at Sparks Road to avoid the incident.Continue reading
