Kamala Harris and Donald Trump have debated for the first time - with Ms Harris's ratings up afterwards. Moderators pointed out lies from Mr Trump and one TV commentator branded his performance 'as bad as Biden'. But in a morning-after call with Fox News, Mr Trump has declared otherwise.
Donald Trump has just spoken to Fox News after his debate with Kamala Harris last night - and confidently declared his victory.'When two fighters fight and one loses the first thing they do is ask for a debate, or another fight,' the Republican nominee said when asked whether there was a chance of a second debate next month.'They lost very badly and the first thing they asked for is a debate.'When a fighter loses he says 'I want a rematch'.
'The former president repeated the sentiment of 'winning the debate' a number of times and in a rather combative tone said he would be 'less inclined' to a second debate because he had a 'great night'.'Let's see what happens,' he added.Fox News has asked to host a second debate between Ms Harris and Mr Trump, giving them the option of 9, 15 or 16 October.It should be noted that Ms Harris has said she would be ready for a second presidential debate.
