Lancashire Police have arrested two people following a surge in vehicle thefts in Wyre. Despite arrests, officers continue to receive reports of vehicle crime and are urging the public to report any incidents.
Lancashire Police are continuing to receive reports of vehicle crime within the area and have made arrests based on their investigations. Two people were arrested last week and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
In an update, they reassure the public they are investigating new offences and are in the process of identifying new suspects. A spokesperson said: "Its continues to be apparent, there are offences still going unreported which are potential missed opportunities for the investigating officers."Please don’t rely on others or assume other members of the community have reported incidents.
"The nights are now drawing in and darker nights make it easier for people to commit crime. Don’t give them an opportunity. Please make sure your vehicles are locked and secured when unattended and remove any valuables, money or bank cards. "We will continue to work with you, the community and our partners to prevent crime and bring offenders to justice."
