Two individuals have been summoned to appear in court in Spain in connection with the murder of John George, a father of two from West Belfast who was found dead earlier this month after disappearing in mid-December. The family solicitor, Kevin Winters, confirmed the development and said the two men are expected to appear at a Preliminary court sitting in Torrevieja on Friday, after an initial scheduled appearance on Wednesday was postponed. The revelation comes as the family prepares for Mr. George's funeral, which has been rescheduled to February 1st.

The solicitor for the family of murder victim John George has confirmed that two individuals have been summoned to appear in court in Spain . The murdered father of two from West Belfast was reported missing after he failed to return home from Spain in mid-December, and his body was discovered earlier this month. The two men are scheduled to appear at a Preliminary court sitting in Torrevieja on Friday, the family's solicitor Kevin Winters has confirmed. In a statement, Mr.

Winters said: 'We can confirm that summonses have issued for the attendance of two persons to answer inquiries in relation to the murder of Mr. George. 'We have been in touch with the authorities in connection with this latest development. 'We understand each person was originally due to appear at the designated Preliminary court sitting in Torrevieja Spain on Wednesday 29 January 2025 at 9:30 am but are now expected to appear on Friday 31/1/25 in the same court. 'The family now faces an anxious wait to learn what each individual has to say. 'The revelation about the anticipated court appearances on Friday 31/1/25 has raised expectations of a major breakthrough on the investigation. With the imminent funeral of Mr. George, the timing of this news couldn't come at a more critically sensitive time for the next of kin. A funeral service for Mr. George had been scheduled to take place last week on Friday, January 24, before the family announced that it had been postponed to allow for a second autopsy to take place. John's funeral service is now set to take place at St Luke's Twinbrook at 9 am on Saturday, February 1.
