Two teenage girls die after being struck by van in Staffordshire
Two 16-year-old girls who were hit by a van have died.
The pedestrians were struck by a white Vauxhall Vivaro on Lichfield Road, Whittington, Staffordshire, at about 22:25 BST on Monday. Both girls sustained serious injuries, following the collision near the junction with Marsh Lane, and were taken to hospital. Staffordshire Police said on Friday both teenagers had died, and appealed for any witnesses of the crash.
The force added that both families had asked for their privacy "to be respected at this difficult time".
