British holidaymakers heading to Amsterdam have been urged to monitor “local guidance” following violence in the city. The UK Foreign , Commonwealth and Development Office has issued a warning for the popular citybreak destination.
Since the incident there has been ongoing unrest in the city and extra policing measures are in place. Police presence has been heightened in the city, there is a ban on demonstrations and the city has been designated a “high risk security area” which enables preventative searches.Security has also been ramped up at Jewish institutions and “other vulnerable sites” across the city.
