The Russian Duma has passed legislation allowing 15-year prison sentences for people spreading false information about the Russian armed forces.The legislation was passed following a third and final reading this morning. It also introduces fines for those who"intentionally" spread false information.
The southern port Kherson is facing contested claims. Russian forces say they have captured it, while Ukraine disputes this. The Times says the Wagner Group sustained losses in their attempts, with a source saying it is"eerie" how well informed Mr Zelenskyy's security team is. The Ukrainian military adds that Russia is preparing for the landing of marines in Zatoka, on the coast of the Black Sea.
This morning, Ms Truss said:"Barbaric behaviour remains a tactic of the Putin regime: terrorising innocent civilians while continuing to deflect and dodge questions." Mr Raab was then asked whether this attack could demonstrate Vladimir Putin's ambition to start a nuclear war. Mr Raab went on to insist the UK will support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy"in every way we can".The Ministry of Defence has released an intelligence update on the war in Ukraine this morning.
