Russia's defence ministry has claimed Kyiv was behind a 'terrorist' drone attack on its capital this morning. The ministry has said eight drones were involved in the strike and all of them were destroyed by air defence systems.
The sooner Russians recognise their country is"fighting NATO" the sooner the Kremlin will win, Russian state TV host Vladimir Solovyov has claimed.
Mr Peskov also said Russian air defences and the defence ministry had worked well in dealing with the assault and added that there were currently no plans for the Russian leader to comment on the drone attack.Ukraine has denied it was behind the strike today.Three of the drones shot down over Moscow today were downed over the Russian capital's exclusive Rublyovka suburb, where President Vladimir Putin has an official residence, a senior Kremlin politician has said.
Russia's investigative committee, which has begun probing the drone strike, confirmed that drones were downed over the Odintsovsky district, which includes Rublyovka. Mr Mayall said that when it came to the latest strike on Moscow there was a"cast list" of potential suspects - the Ukrainians, dissident Russians or the Russians themselves."Ukraine will be aware that they need to keep the moral high ground," he said.
"You put a load of unsophisticated, quite cheap kamikaze drones that you have got from Iran and you force the Ukrainians to use very sophisticated aircraft missiles to take them down. Footage from Moscow shows grey plumes of smoke rising from damaged buildings after the drone attack this morning.
