The opening has gone down well in the area
A new business has opened its doors in a Burton Joyce building that for decades was a former barbershop by day and a bar by night. On Saturday, December 7, Halt Salon officially opened on Station Road and things have been going "really well".
Bosses of the new family-run salon have invested around £30,000 in the business and created opportunities for several stylists and an apprentice. Speaking about the opening, director of Halt Salon, Colin Brown, said: "The opening has gone really well with our December bookings being full. "We have gained a lot of new clients as well as bringing our previous client base with us. We have received a warm welcome from the village, flowers, good luck cards and warm wishes.
"We have a graduate stylist starting with us shortly and we are still looking for more. Hopefully in the new year we can also offer aesthetics, beauty and acupuncture." The unit was occupied by a licensed bar for three decades before it closed. Mr Brown has since transformed the derelict building.
