Angus has primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD), a rare genetic condition affecting just one in 20,000 people. It affects several organs and gets worse over time.

A brave tot is enduring long periods of illness and hospital stays because a vital service has run out of funding.

“We only knew it had stopped because we ended up in hospital and spoke to the consultants, who are all up in arms about it. The service benefited the little boy so much that he, Amy, 32, and dad, Mark, 36, together with big brother Ruaraidh, five, moved from Dundee to Queensferry to be nearer at hand. Before NHS Lothian axed the service Angus was seen four times a year by the respiratory consultant, physiotherapist, specialist nurse and ENT.

But now Angus only sees his consultant, who has not had the benefit of seeing swabs or having input from other healthcare professionals.
