MOST parts of the country are expected to experience warm and humid weather in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.

The easterlies or the winds coming from the Pacific Ocean bring the warm and humid temperatures, Pagasa said.In a previous five-day forecast of Pagasa issued on April 28, the National Capital Region is expected to experience a 40-degree Celsius heat index.Weather forecaster Rhea Torres said most of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers in the afternoon due to localized thunderstorms.

'No low pressure and weather disturbances inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility are being monitored today,' Torres said.The Intertropical convergence zone will likely affect Visayas and Mindanao, particularly Eastern Visayas and CARAGA area.'We again remind the public to avoid extreme outdoor activities, especially between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as we usually record high temperatures in the said time,' Torres said.
