More than 1,000 vehicles are thought to be heading to the area.

Police issued the warning ahead of the event at Irvine Beach Park which could see more than 1,000 vehicles descend on the town on Sunday, July 28.A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: " Police Scotland Ayrshire are aware of a planned car cruise event at Irvine Beach Park on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

"Previous events have seen over 1,000 vehicles in attendance and police are advising there may be some delays and congestion within the area. "Divisional road policing and locality officers will be duty patrolling areas leading both to and from the event. "We ask that drivers ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy and all relevant driving documents are in order and that those in attendance assist in leaving the area clean and clear of rubbish after the event.Read next:
