East Midlands Railway said the behaviour was 'deeply worrying'
Shocking videos have been released of a group of children playing on train tracks at a station in Nottinghamshire. CCTV footage published by East Midlands Railway shows at least three children walking across the live line at Bingham Station, including one who is retrieving a shoe.
EMR said surveillance cameras recorded numerous incidents involving children risking their lives, including actions such as playing on the lines and cutting across the tracks. One piece of footage shows a child retrieving one of his shoes which had been thrown onto the tracks by his friend.
Joe Rowberry, head of safety, health and environment for Network Rail’s East Midlands route, added: “We cannot stress strongly enough how dangerous trespassing on the railway is. Footage like this is hugely shocking and while our railway is one of the safest in the world, it is vital people understand the dangers because too many lives are being put at risk through their own actions.
