The sign was placed on a security fence at the bridge near the new Grand Central Station in Belfast

A threatening sign placed at a security fence on the Boyne Bridge has been removed by police officers.

It comes after plans were announced to demolish the bridge, which is to be closed for the next 12 months to facilitate works in the area around the new Grand Central Station.Read more: PSNI issues traffic warning as 17,000 football fans set to descend on Belfast On Monday afternoon at around 1.30pm, the sign was removed by a number of police officers. A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are aware of a sign that appeared on Sunday evening, 13th October at a bridge in the Durham Street area of south Belfast.
