'Brexit has been an utter catastrophe for Scotland”. The words of First Minister Humza Yousaf at Saturday’s Believe in Scotland rally for…
, freedom of movement, labour shortages to name just a few – one of the most egregious and unnecessary casualties of Brexit was the UK’s withdrawal from the world-renowned Erasmus+ programme: the European Commission’s youth and student exchange programme which gives millions of students and young people the opportunity to study and train abroad.
One of the most significant differences between the Turing Scheme and Erasmus+ is that the Turing Scheme is not reciprocal – meaning that while it provides students from the UK with opportunities to study abroad, it doesn’t provide the opportunity for students from other countries to study in the UK.
