After Storm Darragh battered the UK, Brits are now being told to prepare for another cold spell

Brits are being told to brace themselves for a seven-day snow onslaught, coming just a week after the country faced robust winds and significant downpours. New weather charts indicate that a fresh cold snap will grip Scotland, England, Wales, and Northern Ireland come next Monday, with northerly regions anticipated to be first in line for snowfall.

Before 6am on that day, most of the UK is expected to see snow or at least snowy accumulations, with northern Scotland likely to experience heavier flurries. In the days nearing Christmas, additional snow showers could spread southwards, though not reaching as far as the capital. Mr Dale said there was a "long way to go," adding: "We just have to be a little bit patient and see how the models handle this. But at the moment the favourite areas are tending to be Scandinavia through central, eastern Europe, even as far south as Greece sometimes, that sort of area."

A seldom-seen red warning was issued by the Met Office for parts of the south west of England, with residents advised to stay indoors due to a "danger to life". Weather maps now indicate the possibility of "freezing rain", an uncommon occurrence.
