This article explores the charm of West Bradford, a small village in Lancashire, England. Despite its limited amenities, it boasts breathtaking views, rolling hills, and a strong sense of community.
The villages surrounding the Forest of Bowland and the Ribble Valley are well-known for their breathtaking views, hills and 'chocolate box' towns, villages and hamlets.
Covering some 2,000 acres of the Forest of Bowland, West Bradford is a small and unassuming village, overshadowing by its neighbours of Waddington and Clitheroe that could off more in terms of amenities and landmass. However, these places shouldn't be overlooked and this particular village is a prime example.Although it only has one pub, a village hall and a church, with no shop or other amenities in the village, there's nothing underwhelming about West Bradford.
The history within the area is strong too and interestingly, a rather unexpected figure once walked the streets. In 1931, Mahatma Gandhi stayed at Heys Farm Guest House in West Bradford as he visited Lancashire in 1931.
