The event is being held in joint partnership with Liverpool's Pride festivities
For the first time, the British Firefighter Challenge is being held in Liverpool. The event, being hosted by Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service , will coincide with Liverpool Pride this weekend on Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28. The annual competition sees fire service personnel across the country go head-to-head for bragging rights.
The various challenges, taking place in the morning time, are made up of the likes of a Crofton stair ascent, a Harken haul aloft, a container carry and an Angus fire hose drag. Chris Trendowicz from British Firefighter Challenge said: “It is a privilege to bring our event to a world-renowned city. Partnering with LCR Pride Foundation gives us a really great opportunity to raise awareness of both the challenge and the need to celebrate and increase diversity within the country’s fire services.
