Joey McCrory, a lifelong Celtic fan from Northern Ireland, returned to Parkhead after nearly four decades for his 70th birthday. After suffering a stroke that left him wheelchair-bound, McCrory was given a surprise tour of the stadium and even walked through the players' tunnel, bringing tears to his family's eyes.

A long-life Celtic fan returned to Parkhead this month after nearly four decades as a surprise from his family for his 70th birthday.

After almost four decades, the devoted Hoops fan returned to Parkhead on October 6 for possibly the final time and managed to stand on his two feet as he walked through the players tunnel - with his family "in tears" as they watched on. Speaking to Glasgow Live, daughter Annie McCrory explained that the family took a swift trip to Glasgow in celebration of her dad turning 70. She said: "My dad has lived and breathed Celtic since he was born and as something special for his 70th we thought we'd ask him if he'd like a tour of Celtic Park, but with him being in a wheelchair we were unsure if he'd be up for it.

The whole McCrory clan made their way to Celtic Park as Grandad Joey was joined by his three daughters, son in-law and grandchildren. After the visit granddaughter Chloe posted a clip online of her grandpa walking through the tunnel as he leaned on his daughter for support. The video has been viewed over 193,000 times and has received nearly one thousand comments from Glaswegians, supporters and touched TikTok users.
