'The greatest free light show on Earth' will kick off this month
The long dark nights will soon be upon us as summer draws to a close and this means it is nearly time for the annual Blackpool Illuminations. The world-famous illuminations will be switched on from 30, August 2024 at 9:15pm and will be shining until 5 January, 2025. The annual light show has been extended for a further two months from the previous year meaning more people will be able to take in the spectacular sight of the six mile long attraction.
The switch on is set to be star-studded and will be free of charge to those attending, it will be staged on the Tower Festival Headland on Friday 30 August in association with Hits Radio The event, which attracts thousands of visitors every year promises to be bigger and better than ever as new features have been unveiled. Disco Donkey Cavalcade is just one of many new things to keep an eye out for.
